AnnouncementsWeek 3 Blog Idol Report

What I've been doing so far hasn't been much. Although attempting to visit all Blog Idol blogs and post a comment and subscribe to each one of them seemed simple enough a task. So simple, that I figured first week would be more than enough. When the week was over. I knew it would take much longer. However, I failed to take into account that the ones already visited seemed to grab my attention each day. Somehow I'll get to each blog once, reading a dozen so posts to help me remember it when I'm reading the feeds in my reader later. A lot of interesting content out there. Too interesting as it seems that I'm doing more reading than trying out methods to increase my own subscribers.

But how do I get from low single digit subscriber number to triple digit numbers high enough to win in just ten days?  It'll take some brainstorming I think. It'll definitely take links from high traffic sites with people looking for free website software or recommended free web hosts. So I'm going to make some posts into high traffic forums that I've visited before. I'm also going to attempt Googling a lot of words like ---free website software, free online newspaper software, free forums, message boards etc… look through the results for questions asking about such things and post a response there. Hoping to drive a lot of traffic to my site. I'm thinking I would need ten thousand unique and interested visitors to get triple digit subscribers in just ten days. Its all I can think of that has any possibility of working.

The problem is I'm spending way too much time reading the content of the Blog Idol blogs I've already subscribed too. So lastly, I'm going to try and only read one or two each day; catching up with Blog Idol competitor blogs after the months over. Oh yeah, I'm still open for novice and guru level black hat hackers to find and exploit vulnerabilities. So I'm continuing to encourage that type of traffic as well.

 Sneaky Suggestion
Written on 07/23/08 at 20:00:04 AST by HarpersMom
Hi there, read your post as I'm one of your loyal subscribers.  And I wanted to apologize for all the great content on www.lifewithharper.blogspot.com (cheap plug) that has kept your attention away from your own traffic building strategies.

I just checked my feedburner subscription and noticed an increase in traffic.  I think it may have something to do with the fact that I was traveling yesterday and checked my site from the business center of my hotel.  So, my sneaky suggestion is to log on to your site from different computers not linked to your ISP.  Could boost your numbers.  Definitely guru level black hat hacker stuff.  ok, just kidding.

Thanks. I guess even easier would be to use a blackhat sort of method and use TOR browser to visit own site. Pretending to login from all over the world using proxies.

I'll have to remember to try this out.
